Pushing the Limits: RED Raptor & DZO Vespid Primes
This project was all about testing the RED V-Raptor in available light, pushing the camera to see how it handled highlights, shadows, and dynamic range in real-world conditions. I paired it with DZO Vespid Primes—specifically the 25mm and 75mm—to see how these lenses render skin tones, contrast, and overall cinematic character.
Beyond cinematography, this piece was a full creative experiment for me. I not only shot and edited it but also graded, sound designed, and mixed everything myself. And for the first time, I stepped into the role of composer, creating a simple, subtle score with just the right amount of mood to enhance the visuals without overpowering them.
Expanding my cinematic vocabulary in this way has been a fun challenge, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward. Hope you enjoy the test!
